Control Self-Assessment (CSA) is an alternative to the typical internal audit. Instead of conducting audits via tests and observations, the auditor facilitates a process whereby the managers and employees of a business function perform an examination of the function's own business processes.

The Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA) is a specialty certification program designed primarily for practitioners of control self-assessment. The one-part CCSA exam has 125 multiple-choice questions covering:

2. CSA Program Integration
3. Elements of the CSA Process
4. Business Objectives/Organizational Performance
5. Risk Identification and Assessment
6. Control Theory and Application

You may choose to take this specialty exam as credit for Part IV of the CIA exam.
