AIT
Strategic Management of Information Exam Essential Readings 2008

The AIT (Associate in Information
Technology) certification offered by AICPCU aims at bridging the gap between insurance professionals and
IT professionals.
The AIT program covers the technical
areas that insurance professionals should understand, and also prepares
the IT professional with an in-depth understanding of insurance automation
issues.
Content-wise, the AIT exam questions are
more or less conceptual and theory-based,
with very few hands on element covered. For the 85-questions two-hour AIT 134 exam, the major
knowledge domains include:
- Creating Business Advantage With IT
- Crafting Business Models
- Building Networked Businesses
- Making the Case for Networked
Business
- Understanding Internetworking
Infrastructure
- Assuring Reliable and Secure IT
Services
- Managing Diverse IT Infrastructures
- Organizing and Leading the IT
Function
- Managing IT Outsourcing
- A Portfolio Approach to IT
- Data Warehousing
To be absolutely safe,
you want to set the goal of answering at least 85% of the questions
correctly.
It is believed that in
order to clear the AIT 134 exam with a margin, sufficient additional
readings on top of the "official" study material would be necessary.
This is especially true for the knowledge domains of "Understanding Internetworking
Infrastructure" and "Assuring Reliable and Secure IT
Services". Candidates will less technical experience will usually
find themselves vulnerable to questions in these areas. By missing one or
two tech questions in these areas you may render yourself in a position
which is very marginal. This is why we put together this special package,
for helping those non-techies in tackling the tech challenges.
